Black Belt!
My sister in law, Kelli just earned her black belt. She has worked so hard to accomplish this..years of training. (Now Kelli is a tiny little thing. If she weighs 100 pounds i would be very surprised. but she had always had this amazing upper body strength! When we all get together to make homemade raviollis, she's in charge of making the dough! and we make lots of dough! )
I wanted to make a little something for her to let her know how proud we are of her. I also wanted to keep it simple. I knew that i wanted to add a belt to this card and wanted that to be the main image on the card.
I stamped white paper with versa mark and then heat embossed it with black ep. used my ticket corner punch, added some brads on each corner. I stamped Congratulations on white paper with black ink, and then framed it with black cs. I tied black ribbon around the band, secured the ribbon with 2 black flower brads and used 2 jewelry charms for the belt buckle and looped the black ribbon through it. It's very simple, but i know that she will get a kick out of this when she receives it!
Thanks for visiting!

beautiful card and give your sis my best wishes and congrats on her belt
This card is so elegant! Love the black embossing and the ribbon belt is a great touch. And now you made me hungry for ravioli. I LOVE Italian food!
Looks like your mojo is back.
Love your card, the belt is such a nice touch! My son is working towards his black belt so I know how hard it is, tell Kelli CONGRATS from the stamping world!
Beautiful! I am sure she will love it!!!
This is gorgeous! Love how you did the belt - your sis should love it!
I love B&W cards. They are so elegant. I am sure she will really like this!
This is just drop dead gorgeous, Lorraine. Your sis will LOVE it!
Absolutely beautiful! I love the black belt touch. This is so elegant. Great job!
Beautiful card that will mean so much to your sister:) Congrats to her - my son has a black belt and I remember all the years and hard work it took him to get it. He was so sweet & shy (and occassionally bullied) when he was young - that belt has given him the confidence to be extremely successful now as an adult. Best wishes to your sister.
Very elegant! I know it will be very much appreciated!
What a nice way to say congratulations on accomplishing something so difficult! Great card!
Very clever idea - and a great card too! You'd better stay on the right side of your sister now! LOL
Love the card- and what a fab way to show your support!
This card could not be any cuter nor more perfect. You are amazing. You should buy her a frame to go with it as a joke...I'd frame it.
Wow what a stunning card!
