And the Winner is...

to pick the winner instead of using random number org i decided to cut up pieces of paper and put numbers on them. We tossed all the cut up #'s into a bowl and picked one piece of paper! My daughter picked the winning number

I need your help...

On Super bowl Sunday I announced the winner of the May Arts Ribbon Blog Candy give away. The winner never notified me. Since I'm relatively new at this blogging world and would love to know what is the correct thing to do? Do I just pick another winner? This is fabulous ribbon and I'd love to see somebody have it. Your advice and wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

Did you miss me?

Hi everyone! well i'm back! lol.
Thanks to all of you who were inquiring about me!
My sister and i had a wonderful time in Florida. It was so great to just get away from it all. We had some lovely weather and not so lovely weather. 2 days of wind and lots of rain. One morning as we took our coffee out onto the balcony the wind was so strong it blew my nightgown up to my neck. I just looked at my sister and laughed. We quickly went back into my dads apartment! I suggested that we go down to the beach anyway! We could sand blast some pounds off us. LOL! Then the rain started and continued for the rest of that day into the next until the late afternoon. There was not much to do! By 2 pm I was ready to go out of my mind. So i grabbed an umbrella and my sister and we walked down to Howard Johnsons...it's situated right across from the beach...and surprise Happy Hour started early! Margarettaville here we come! 2 hours later the sun came out and we were back to being very happy. do you think the tequilla had anything to do with it? lol
My father and his wife, Maria live in Deerfield Beach in a gorgeous ph apartment on the beach. Here are some photos. A few were taken while I was sitting on the beach and there is one view of my fathers building. His apartment is the very top with the huge balcony! What an amazing view from up there.
I came home and we had a snow storm! So i'm including some pictures of my yard covered in snow. The first photo is a side view of my front porch and yard, the second photo is a view of my carriage house and Layla, my 7 year old chocolate lab. the next photo is also of my back yard. see the park bench? In front of it is a bacci ball court covered in snow!
I plan on getting back into my craft room and start making some stuff with my new stamps that i ordered from SU. Keep posted!
I've missed you all!

The last two

Here are the last two cards that i made for valentines.
I have so much left to do before i leave on Sunday. I still have to pack, and tomorrow is my daughters 18th birthday. We've got a pretty busy day tomorrow and i probably won't have any time to stamp.
I just wanted to share these with you before i left.
Have a Happy Valentines Day!
thanks for stopping by!
Lorraine

As you can see, i am still playing with the same sketch. SC162. Lots of stitching on this card. I used Berry Bliss DP from SU and this is another stamp from Just So Hippy by Gina K Designs. I think it's really cute.

The next card is still growing on me. the more i look at it the more i like it. I used a stamp from Penny Black. I think it's called The Squadron. It's very simple. The cuttlebug swirl folder added some texture, and then i added some fun ribbon and lots of stickers. I colored in the piggies with prisma color pencils and gamasol.

Ginger Blossom Valentine

I'm still working with the SCS sketch challenge SC162. However the layout is flipped a little bit. I used Ginger Blossom DP and am still using my Gina K designs stamp set Just So Hippy. I am in love with this set! OMG! It is so much fun to play with this!
This is the 2nd Valentine made. 5 more to go! I may not have time to post tomorrow, so i'm posting this now.
Thanks for peeking in!

Hippy Love

Playing with the Sketch Challenge SC162. Wow, lots of layers... Lots of measuring. Working with the sketch challenges takes me a little out of my comfort zone, but it takes me beyond the simple sketches that i always seem to fall back on. LOL
I used this sketch to make one of the many Valentines that must be made before i leave for Florida.
I still had the Berry Bliss paper on my desk and used it with my new set from Gina K., called Just So Hippy. I think it's really cute. I'm going to have to play with this set a little more!
Thanks for checking in!

Chelsea's 18th is coming!

My oldest daughter, Chelsea will be 18 this Saturday. The day that she was born is still so vivid to me! Right after I delivered her the doctor put her on my stomach and she immediately pooped! I just looked at the doctor and said to him...Is this what i have to look forward too? we both laughed.
I made this card a little early...i have a very busy week. I am leaving on Sunday to go to Florida. I am meeting my sister there and we will be visiting with my father. He lives on the ocean and the view is amazing. I'll take pictures so that i can share them with you when i come back. I need to make some Valentines' Day cards before i leave! ugghhhh

this is another Rubber Romance Diva. The owner of the company sells them on a site called Etsy.com, her seller name is burnt cookie. Shipping is only $2 per order. (I am not affiliated with this company at all...just like to pass on a great deal when i can!)
I opened up another new pack of dp called berry bliss and started designing around the paper. I colored her in with su markers and some water coloring...and then sponged...i just love sponging. lol

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubber Romance, Nan & SU Whimsical Numbers
card stock: pretty in pink, white, close to cocoa, purely pom, & DP Berry Bliss
embellies: ribbon, prima flowers, baubles, stickles

It's warm here in NY. 62 degrees, but not a pretty day. i hope that where ever you are you have sunshine!
thanks for stopping by.

Ten Little Fingers, Ten Little Toes

boy or girl, no one knows!

I have a friend, yup, i got me one...her name is Maria. We met each other through our sons and have become great friends. we have beach days together, family vacations together, girls nights out and over the years have shared many laughs and tears together. we have all these dates in common. my daughter and her son have the same birthday, my son's birthday is her wedding anniversary, her daughters birthday is the same day that my mother passed, ...are you getting the picture? cause there are more! LOL!
she has 4 kids...boy, girl, boy, girl... like me... and she is always on the go. she is one busy working mom.
in passing she tells me...Did i tell you?...my sister Christine is having her first baby at 40, can you imagine... and i'm throwing her a shower. I need 50 invitations! Don't you have something already made up that i can use?...I just laughed at that one...yup, just go to the card rack and pick them out babe! i'm sure you'll find 50 baby shower themed cards in that rack! LMAO!
so this is what i finally came up with. we don't know if Christine is having a boy or a girl...and i was struggling with colors...i tried the yellow and green, the lilac and yellow and just didn't like anything. and then i thought hey, what's wrong with pink and blue. no time to shop and put a SU order in so i had to use what i had in my stash.
let me know what you think...or if you have any suggestions...these were kind of a rush job...lol
thanks and have a great day!
recipe:
stamps: Simple Somethings, SU

Woohooo! No Mohawk!

NO MOHAWK! NO MOHAWK!
As some of you may have read on my previous post my son is out of danger of sporting a Mohawk. He has, however had the honor of shaving his friends head! Oh to be so young and stupid again! LOL!
We were celebrating wildly in our house...and i've got to tell you that my blood pressure was extremely high, especially in the last few minutes of the game. i thought that i was going to explode. what an exciting game! But enough on that...i could go on and on about how our team played the game. they were amazing!
as promised I am announcing the winner of my blog candy for the ribbon. by random number picker, the number picked was 9. So Deb, please let me know which share of ribbon you would like and i will get it into the mail for you. I am leaving for a trip the end of the week, and would love to mail it out before i go.
I've been working on something creative, hopefully they'll be done tomorrow and i can post.
Wohoo! Giants! We are number one! sorry, i just can't help myself!
thanks!
Hope you all had a wonderful day

Go Giants Go!

I know that not everyone is rooting for the Giants to win...with the Patriots having a perfect record and all...but i need them to win. My son, John, who is in college in California, decided to place a bet with his friend that the Giants would be victorious. He is so adamant that they will win that he bet that he will get his hair cut into a mohawk if they are defeated! OMG! He's got such beautiful hair!!!! LOL! So, please, if you feel so inclined, even if you don't want the Giants to win...maybe keep your fingers crossed for me that they do...from one mom to another I beg you!
Go Giants, Go!
Have a great Sunday!
