Magical Reindeer Food

I know that i should be thinking of Halloween, but it's really not my favorite holiday...so i'm thinking about Christmas! These are Magical Reindeer Food Bags. They are so cute, don't you think? Not only are they cute but they were real easy to make.

Inside the decorated paper is a plastic bag filled with oatmeal, green, red, & gold glitter....all non toxic!

The first thing that i did was get out my jumbo wheel from SU called Swirling Stars. I covered an entire piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper with the design. I put the paper on my paper cutter so that the top of the paper measured 8 1/2. I cut the paper in half...the long way at 4 1/4". Then I scored the paper, putting the paper in the long way, so that the 11 " is on the top I then scored the paper at 1 3/4, folded the flap and measured from the flap and scored again at 3 3/4....turned the paper around and scored again at 3 3/4. Then I folded on my scored lines, and had the flap in the front. I punched two holes on the inside and then matched up the holes, and with a pencil marked the holes on the outside flap. I pulled ribbon through from the inside, placed the bag of oatmeal on the inside of the bag, stapled it to the inside, and then pulled the ribbon through from the inside to the outside and attached the reindeer tag, made from the SU set Festive Favorites , with gold cording and then finished tieing up the ribbon. On the back of the bag I attached a little poem, it reads,

"Magical Reindeer Food....

Sprinkle on your lawn Christmas Eve night

The Moon will make it sparkle bright

As Santa's Reindeer fly and roam

This Food will guide them to your home..."

I know this is probably clear as mud....and thanks for looking...if you have any questions...just let me know!

some new stuff

I've been working on altering $1 notebooks and journals, and clipboards. These have been so much fun to do. There is also a packet that holds 6 coordinating cards. So easy...here are the directions!

Take a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. Place paper in front of you so that the 11" side is on the top and bottom. Score paper so that it is equal on both sides. Open up paper and score 2" from the bottom of the 11". Measure 1" on each side of the scored line that is in the middle of the paper and make a diagonal cut up to the center score. Your cut should resemble an inverted V. Fold up...place cards and envelope on both sides of the packette. For the band I cut a 12" piece of designer paper 2" and another piece of coordinating paper 1" and layered. I wrapped the band loosley around the packette and used my anywhere glue stick to adhere the bands together, not on the packette. You want to be able to slide it off and on! I decorated the band with a little ribbon, and punched out some dp and a scallop and put it on top of the band. A very easy project! Thanks for looking!

chipboard coaster calendars

These are 2 of the calendars that i have been working on. If you go to the following link you will find the calendar for 2008 for you to print up and use.

I used 4 x 4 chipboard coasters, medium weight. I cut out 4" squares of designer paper and glued it to each side of the chipboard coaster. I then cut 6 pieces of paper, 4" squares to coordinate with the designer paper.

I used my cropadile to punch holes in the chipboard and the paper and then set eyelets on the covers and on each piece of paper. I cut out each month, layered it with coordinating paper and then glued one month to each side of the paper....so that when you flipped the paper over the next month would be visible. I tied ribbon through each hole, embellished a little and your done. It's a cute little calendar and is perfect for a desk. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. thanks for looking...Lorraine

VSN Mini over at SCS

Tonight was the first time that i participated in the VSN at SCS. It was a mini and the theme was girls night out....it intrigued me...especially since the theme was martinis! Today, at my sister in laws we were working on some projects and she showed me a napkin that said Betty Ford Clinic. they were cocktail napkins....too funny.....so ....when i saw this challenge i thought, let me give this a try.... This card was made for the Martini VSN mini. I am aplolgizing in advance if this offends anyone. I stamped the basic black paper with White Craft ink. I then covered it with clear embossing powder, and heated. The Martini stamp is from Stamping Bella, and the saying is from Inky Antics. I used my brand new cricut to cut out all the letters for the BFC. I'm going to make up a few sets of these, put them in boxes and give them out as gifts. I know my friends will appreciate the humor...especially my bf, Pat, whose nick name is Aunt Olive! Thanks for looking!

Binder Clips

Another day, another project! This craft fair that i have committed my self to doing is taking on a life of it's own. These are some of the binder clips that i am making to sell at the fair.

They are so easy to make. Here are the directions, just in case you need them!

Cut 1 strip of desired paper 2" x 3 1/4". If you would like to layer your paper cut another piece of paper 1 3/4" x 3 1/4". Now your ready to glue. I used SU anywhere glue, and used my bone folder to make nice creases. apply glue, then paper. you will have to work it a little to fit it under the hinges. Ok, wasn't that so easy! now you're ready to decorate them. I used ribbon, and funky fibers. tie a ribbon around the base. Your knot will be covered up by a punched design. then tie ribbon on each side of the binder clip. Choose your design for your focal point and apply it with dimensionals. You are done! Thanks for looking!

Simply the best

I just received some images that i had been eyeing, and as soon as i opened the envelope i immediately had to play. Yup, it's a Bella, and she goes perfectly with the outlaw paper from SU. I am in love with sage shadow now! lol Hope you like her as much as i do. She really is one of my favorite things, she's simply the best! Thanks for looking!

No Stamping Halloween

I'm not usually into Halloween, but my sister requested some cards to give to her coworkers. This stamp was made without any stamping. I used the circle punch 1 3/8" for the pumpkins, and moon , the smaller tag punch for the tombstones, and 2 different sized oval punches for the ghosts. I layered 3 circles to make the pumpkins, and then i drew on their faces. Thanks for looking. let me know what you think!

Granny Gertz & Edna Yells

Granny Gertz went to the beauty salon today and had her hair done. You know the senior special....the infamous "Blue Rinse". She is all dolled up and on a roll. be careful if you bump into her, even though she's all dolled up she is still one cranky old broad....She came home from the Salon and just had to check herself out in the bathroom mirror. Well, Edna was not too thrilled with Granny...Granny kept saying one minute and Edna was kept waiting...hopefully they'll make up and be friends again!

do you think anyone saw me?

I couldn't resist...i think that this image is hysterical...it's a classic! I was going to embellish the card and thought that "Stella" was enough woman for this card front. I even broke out my stash of the new color cs...I think i only left out 2 colors...lol ....sometimes i tend to just hoard things and don't use them because they're new...that makes no sense, right? It's kind of like when your eating and you save your favorite thing in the dish to eat last....

i think that my favorite new color is the purely pom...grovey gauve's not so bad either....and then again i love river rock and wild wasabi. feel free to let Stella know what you think of her eating all the olives out of the martinis! the nerve of some people!

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I have been into the whimsy lately. This one is called Bees from Stamps Happen Inc. They make me smile, I hope they make you smile too.

Falling in love with a cranky granny!

wow, I finally discovered Eat Cake Graphics and just love the images and sayings. I've been playing a litte today with Granny Gertz. She is a cranky old broad! LOL! Thanks for looking!
The first card is for my friend Pat, who is about to have a birthday. the outside of the card says... don't go getting your panties in a wad.... and the inside says,... so have a happy birthday. I wanted to make her a little wild so I used some animal print ribbon, from M's and stamped the close to cocoa cs with chocolate chip and used a leopard print. then i used my brand new stickles and stickled her purse and buttons.
the second card was created using some unknown dp paper that i have had for a very long time. i think it came from hsn or qvc on one of the midnight madness scrapbooking events, and well i just had to have it, even though i have never scraped! lol
Granny dressed up for the second time out today. she has on her glitter socks, glitter glasses, feather boa around her neck and reached for her crystal purse before setting out. She could care less about wrinkles. Maybe we should all be a little more like Granny Gertz!

I think i've finally figured it out!

well, i think that i finally figured out this posting issue on this blog. there is only a big tab for posting! lol if you have visited me before, i hope that you will come back. this should only get better and better.

Well today was a productive day. I completed a few more of the itty bitty chipboard coaster brag books and even altered one of my daughters marbled composition books. These are easy to do. I find myself going around the house searching for things that i should alter! thanks for looking. if you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

The flowers on the books are all prima flowers.....hey they are one of my favorite things!

Play For P.I.N.K.

My daughters and I organized a swim-a-thon in August at the club we belong to. I thought that since it is October, and Breast Cancer Awareness month that i would share these pictures with you. To date we have raised close to $10,000....we're soooo close! The money we raised is going to an organization called Play For P.I.N.K.

Play For P.I.N.K. through all of it's chapters then sends the money raised to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, where 100 percent of the money goes towards research and finding a cure. It feels great to be able to contribute to such a wonderful and worthy cause!

chip board coaster thingies

so here are two of these mini books i have been working on. hope you like them!

to blog or not to blog?

well today i read a post on scs about blogging and thought to myself, what are you doing. if i am not the only one reading this you will know what i mean. i don't know how to post anything on here the right way. pictures are all over the place, posts are all over the place, i'm just happy that somehow they get saved and not lost. (this is the 3rd time i am writting this post!)
anyway, getting ready for a craft fair. i can't believe how much money you are able to spend so that you can set yourself up to make some money! lol so far i have made 34 sets of tile coasters and still working on them, a few altered journals, some mini chipboard coaster thingies...i'll try to post a picture. it's exhausting! but it's so fun to be creative , which kind of gets back to the title of this post, to blog or not to blog! should i be blogging? if i look at some of the blogs out there and see all the wonderful cards and other artistic creations that are out there, especially since i'm stalking them, i wonder if i should blog at all. Not that i don't think what i come up with is not good, after all i did come up with it, and if i made it i usually love it, you may not love it, and that's ok. Do i blog to see how much traffic comes through, and give out blog candy to the first 10 people to visit...actually i was very surprised to even see that i had 5 comments on my blog! lol i finally figured out how to view them...so maybe i don't know how to blog, but i'm sure having fun talking to myself!
