Frankie goes to Hollywood

well maybe not Hollywood, but definitely Malibu Beach!
This is going to my son John who is attending Pepperdine University in Malibu. This year his apartment is on the beach. He's one lucky kid!
I made it for a challenge on nic_d's blog. Check it out!
This is an image from Whipper Snapper, called Frankie. He's been colored with copics, cut out and then backed in black card stock, cut out again and then popped up . Now I have the song Relax by Frankie goes to Hollywood in my head,... Wow, that's dating me! lol
Thanks for looking!

Just thought I'd share...

what 110 dozen raviolli look like! LOL!
We're taking a lunch break, we've been working all morning! We've gone through 5 pounds of flour and we're on to our next batch.

We finished at 5:30, and my sister and I made 200 dozen ravioli! With the left over pasta dough we made fettucinni.
Thanks for letting me share this with you!

House Mouse and Friends

After I chopped 10 pounds of onions, cut up about 15 lbs of meat I decided that I just had to play for a little while. Everything has to cook for hours....so here I am posting again! LOL! I have really been anxious to ink up a House Mouse stamp that hadn't seen ink yet, and I wanted to try out my new Brillance Ink Pad. Both are fantastic.
There was a sketch challenge over at House Mouse and Friends and I have been thinking about it all week long. What image should I use, what paper, etc., and before they post another sketch on Monday I wanted to get this one in! lol ****I just went over there, and this is an old challenge, they are on to a new one! lmao. Well, I still had fun making this even if I am a week too late! ****
This image is called Take Time to Smell the Flowers. I used creamy caramel , riding hood red, river rock, & pink pirouette card stock. the dp is from K & Company. I hand wrote the sentiment with choc chip marker and colored in the image with, what else my copics!
Thanks for looking!

I'm am thrilled that you are really enjoying my blog. Every now and then I get an email for some images. I am so happy that I have inspired you by one of my cards that you would like an image to try for yourself! If I have it, I'd love to send it.
And that's when I started thinking about Blog Candy! How would you like to receive a collection of stamped House Mouse images. I have a whole bunch...a box full, in fact. I'll stamp 2 images of all my House Mouse stamps, including my Hoppers and Gruffles and send them to one lucky winner. Leave a comment, and we'll pick a winner on Monday, September 22nd. That will give you all a chance to spread the word around to all of your house mouse loving friends! :)

High Seas

Happy Friday, everyone.
This is another image from TAC, called Ship Collage. I stamped the image with chocolate chip and then distressed it a little bit with Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. I used old olive, choc chip, and rose red card stock from SU and the dp is Basic Grey from the Stella Ruby collection. I added some choc chip satin ribbon, a swirly thingie and some jumbo eyelets to complete the card.
I may not get around to posting anything else for the weekend. My sister, Marlene is coming over later in the day and we are going to be making home made raviollis. It's usually a three day process. Today we'll cook up all the meat for the filling, and grind it later on tonight. Tomorrow we make the dough and start stuffing raviollis, let them dry a little and Sunday we'll package them up. It's so much work, but it is so worth the effort!
Enjoy your weekend. I know that I will enjoy mine!

Funny thing happened on the way to the..

This is pretty funny. Stuff like this happens to me all the time.
This morning I went shopping. I was heading to TJMax in search of some king size pillows for my bed. It was a little nippy out this morning so I put on my brand new jeans, go into the closet to get some shoes and can't find anything with a closed foot. All of my shoes are sandals, mostly with heels, where the heck are my flats? No flats, I must have thrown them all out at the end of last season. I must have something like 40 pairs of really nice sandals! Anyway, I find a pair of mules that I purchased in Italy, at least they had a closed toe! I head out the door thinking that I look really nice. My hair and makeup are done nicely, and I had my 20 % off coupon for M's in my purse...M's is really close to the Max. I see my girlfriend in the store and I say hello. She is looking at me really funny. I'm like Fenizia, are you ok? And she says to me, Are you OK? I'm like, yeah, I'm fine, kids are back in school, just running around, trying to get somethings done, you know how it is. Fenizia looks at me again and starts laughing. and says, Lorraine you're blue! I'm like, no I'm not, I'm in a really good mood.! No, she says, you're really blue! The ink from my really expensive True Religion jeans had rubbed off on me. My hands were blue, the side of my purse was blue, and the top of my shoes where the jeans had rubbed were blue. And I had blue on my face. I did notice that my hands seemed blue but I thought it was the lighting in the store. OMG! Can you imagine? I didn't come right home, I did stop in M's. They had a whole bin of $1 Halloween stamps...I didn't buy any...but i'm sure the people in the store thought that I was a little early for Halloween! LOL!
I came home and washed my jeans. 3 washes and the color is still bleeding! ugghhh!
It's a good thing that my appointment with the gynecologist is tomorrow! Can you imagine????? LMAOROTF!
Thanks for listening to my ramble!

Challenging Train

I just received some new rubber today. I have been really bad with my credit card this month. I am almost afraid to get the bill. I have to stop making purchases for a little while if I want any spending money when I go on the cruise next month with Gina K and friends!
I made this card for both the color challenge CC183, and the sketch challenge SC193 on SCS.

I had a tough time with the sketch for this one, and I didn't have any green galore paper so I just used my su marker to add the touch of Green Galore. I like it, but I think that I am really in love with this new rubber! LOL!
Thanks for the visit. I hope that you're all having a great day.

***I forgot to mention that this new rubber is from the TAC company. It's called Train Collage. This is my first order from TAC, and I have to say that i am impressed by the quality and the way the image held color and stamped. They're Really Great!***

The Witch Is In

Here's a card that I made for the sketch challenge over at SCS. SC193 was supposed to be a sketch to use up some scraps. I, however managed to make many more scraps!
I usually do not like Halloween. I think it's a pagan holiday! lol
When my kids were younger I used to make all of their costumes. They have been everything from pumpkins to power rangers, princesses to pirates. Now, that I am getting older I can't stand it! We get over 100 trick or treaters at our door. It's not even neighborhood kids. It just bugs me.
Anyway, there are so many cute images for Halloween from a variety of stamp companies. This one is from Whipper Snapper. I'll be making a few cards to send to my nieces and nephews. They are still little and they don't ring my doorbell while I'm trying to eat dinner!
Enjoy!
Have a great day!

Bewitching Pumpkins

I have two cards to share with you today. They are both the same image, Bewitching Pumpkins from House Mouse.
I wanted to compare coloring them in using prisma color pencils and copics. The photos of these two cards isn't the best... something with the lighting...but you tell me which one you like better. I think that they are both adorable, and both are not designed the same way, different layouts and different embellishments which make a huge difference in the overall feeling of the completed cards
While in my travels yesterday I came across a blog Joy in a Jar. Her card which featured a house mouse design made me gasp. It was so beautiful. From her blog I traveled to House Mouse & Friends. They have some great challenge sketches. While my cards don't even fit the requirements for their sketch challenge, I certainly was inspired by both blogs. You really should go visit.
Thanks for the time today!
Have a great day!

Frog in love

Happy Monday everyone!
I wish I had found this blog before I put this card together. Please check out 2Sketches4you. They have wonderful sketches posted and also give hints and suggestions on how to complete your projects using their sketches!
Here's another image from Whipper Snapper colored in with Copic Markers. He's very funny, don't you think? I gave him goggly eyes to add to his goofiness.
I love coloring,no problem there but today I had a very hard time putting it all together into making a card. Sometimes the mojo just isn't there. I have always said that I am color challenged. I find it very difficult putting colors together unless they are done for me. I didn't know what to do with him. None of the color combo's that I was putting together were working. And that SU color wheel, well it was no help at all. I think I pulled out every piece of card stock that I own and still nothing worked so I settled on glorious green and wild wasabi with a touch of summer sun. I had these stickers left over from valentines day and added them. I'm not totally happy with this one, but I still think he's cute. I'll find him a good home! lol!
Have a great day!

Got Milk?

Meet Maribel the Cow.
I thought that this would be a cute card to send to a friend who had a baby. I know, I am very warped...LOL!
I used my copics once again. I am really falling in love with them. I'm still looking for better ink to stamp the images so they don't bleed through. While working with Copics the color itself bleeds through the paper. While coloring this in I had another sheet of stamped images ready to play with and the color went right through onto the stamped images that were under the one I was working on! That is so frustrating.
I hope you are enjoying these images.
Thanks for checking in today!
I've been spending way too much time on this computer, in my stamp room and haven't done anything else! I must go to the grocery store and stock the fridg! I've got complaints that there is nothing to eat! LOL!
Have a great Friday! Relax and enjoy your weekend!

I just can't wait to be King!

Will the real Lion King please step forward!
This image is called King of the Jungle. Again, I have a few smudges from the black ink. I really have to invest in another ink pad while working with Copics!
When I took out this image I had the perfect dp in mind to work with. I know that I bought it at ACMoore a long time ago and really had to go through my stash to find it. LOL! I'm really into using up my stash. I horde paper, it's a very bad thing. After all it's only paper and it should be used!
I have a few more images to ink up by Whipper Snapper. ( I am not affiliated with this company, heck I'm not affiliated with any company!) Check in tomorrow and meet....
Have a great day.
Smiles :)

Slobbery Pooch

I thought that i would be able to wait until tomorrow to work with another image from my new stash from Whipper Snapper, but I couldn't keep away.So... I'm declaring this week to be my Whipper Snapper week to showcase my new stamps! LOL! Splitcoast posted a new sketch challenge , SC192, and I jumped right in using Slobbery Pooch. Isn't he really cute?

I used some retired dp from SU called Loves Me. Got out the Janome Sew Mini and started stitching away. I used crystal effects for all his slobber and on his tongue. LOL!
Thanks for visiting today. Tell me, are you loving this pooch as much as I am?
Smiles :)

Pigs in Love Forever...

When this stamp arrived with the others i had no clue what it was. Don't get me wrong, I knew what i had ordered, and even though I order most of my stamps unmounted whenever I can, I can still tell what they are, but not this one! I thought that Whipper Snapper had sent me scrap rubber. LOL! It's a tough image to stamp. I kept getting smudges and ink spots where they shouldn't be, but persistence paid off. I stamped the image with SU Basic Black ink, not good when working with Copics! I will have to invest in another black ink pad, Stazon smudges as well when working with Copic Markers. Ugghhh!
I thought this image was just adorable. I had to work with it. I used SU Print Pattern BG stamp for the first layer on the card. I used Copics to color in the little (big) piggies...I really need to practice more with them for shading.
This brought a smile to my face. I hope it brings a smile to yours too.
Come back tomorrow and meet another new friend from Whipper Snapper!
Smiles :)

Whipper Snappers have arrived

Visiting a blog friend, Sarah I discovered these images from Whipper Snapper. They are so cute, and since i didn't have anything like them at all I took the plunge and ordered a few.
Meet Farley. I think that he is a riot. I knew that I wanted to use outlaw paper with him. I colored him in with SU Markers, handwrote the sentiment, and added some jumbo eyelets. This will be going out to my nephew Danny, whose birthday was in August. I just need his new college address to send it to him!
Have a great day!

Napping on thistle

What a crazy weekend we all had. It was a whirlwind of activities celebrating my sister's birthday. She is so much fun to be around that I wish that we could see each other more often. She lives in California and it's not always easy to get together. She left Sunday and I miss her already! My two sisters are planning a 12 day cruise to Ireland next summer and they want me to come along with them. Just us sisters! I hope that I can convience my husband to let me go. It's one thing to take a two week trip as a family, but a whole different ball game traveling for that long without them!
This card is a HouseMouse, and is called Napping on Thistle. I used my copic markers to color this in. (I only have Box A of the copics and am thinking that I need to get another set, probably Box B. I'll have to wait a month or two. I have been ordering lots of stamps from different companies and need to stop spending so much, especially if I want to go on that cruise next year! LOL)
Getting back to the card, I sponged around the image, and attempted to use the SU scallop border punch and screwed up on one punch so I kept screwing up and liked the outcome. It kind of looks like a fancy border. I added a little stickles to the flowering thistle.
Enjoy! Have a great day!
