Fall Scarecrow

I've made a huge decision for myself today. After receiving credit card bills for all my stamping supplies purchased in the last few weeks I have decided that I will not be making anymore purchases for awhile. The saddest part of this is that I will be giving up my dem status with Stampin Up, and will not be purchasing new stuff, not from them, not from anyone! LOL! This is a self imposed budget I'm putting myself on, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe if I say it I will abide by it.
I have so many stamps that have never seen ink. If I'm not quick to buy more new ones, I just might have to use what I have. I should use what I like and get rid of what I don't! There are so many sets that were must haves and now I look at them and think...what was I thinking? Well, that's my plan and I'm sticking to it! LOL!

This set is called Hanging around Scarecrow. I purchased it from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. She has some really cute images. They are unmounted and inexpensive. Shipping was really fast. I am not affiliated with her company at all, just like to pass along info when I can.
First let me say that good quality paper is very important. I ran out of Whisper White and went to Michaels to buy some white card stock, and well lets just say it's not the same. While working with the copics and blending colors the paper couldn't absorb it all. the colors bleed. I was getting very frustrated, and trust me that is not a good thing! I hate this card stock! You have no idea! If anyone has any suggestions as to where I can purchase some good quality white card stock, please let me know! OMGosh, there goes my self imposed budget...does card stock count?
Enjoy your weekend! I'll be back....
Smiles :)

I used SU card stock..really rust, choc chip, wild wasabi, and pumpkin pie and SU dp on this card. I think the DP is called Apple Cider, ... not to sure.

Hey Lorraine! What fun colors you used too!! I've never used the Whisper White cs,so I can't compare, but I usually use Xerox brand, 110# index weight white paper. Maybe you'll like that? good luck! (and nope, paper is a necessity..lol)

Your card is cute even if you had trouble with the cs. I like papertrey's white cs. It is so heavy and it loves copics! You won't be sorry for using it.

Hi Lorraine cute scarecrow and your blog looks great. Have you tried the white cardstock from Walmart, I find it great it's a nice weight and colours don't run. It's in the office supply department.

Lorraine, good for you for deciding to stop spending and use what you have! I spend too much too. I read on some artist's site to use Hammermill's white "color copy paper" for coloring with Copics and I got some. It is very inexpensive compared to SU cardstock and the Copics work beautifully with it.

I love the scarecrow! The flowers and leaves at the bottom look great as well! I sympathize with you on the Michael's cardstock - it really is terrible. Last time I was in the US - I bought some Georgia Pacific cardstock at Walmart which is pretty good - it's supposed to be good with copics although I've never used it! Good luck with your budget - I'm trying not to buy so much anymore - it's time to go through my stash! Heather x
