Just thought I'd share...

what 110 dozen raviolli look like! LOL!
We're taking a lunch break, we've been working all morning! We've gone through 5 pounds of flour and we're on to our next batch.

We finished at 5:30, and my sister and I made 200 dozen ravioli! With the left over pasta dough we made fettucinni.
Thanks for letting me share this with you!

Homemade pasta is easy to make! Try it, you'll really like it!
Recipe below!
Pasta
5 lbs of flour
2 eggs
6 egg yolks
about 1/4 C of oil
3 TB of salt
3 - 3 1/2 cups of luke warm water

mix all together. the dough should not stick to your hands. Knead until smooth. Cut into small pieces about 2 ", roll out to the thickness you desire and then cut into strips. Let hang to dry!

WOW...good for you!! This actually looks like fun ... I haven't made homemade pasta for a few years but I like your "lovely" drying rack ... I use one of those collapable clothes drying racks for mine but I'll keep your idea in mind if I need more hanging space next time!! TFS ... these are going to taste sooooooooo good!!

Darlene, one year we tried drying the pasta on one of those clothes racks. We turned around for one minute and it was all gone. the dogs ate the pasta! so from then on we hang them high! lol

stephanie, we make soooo many because they are alot of work. WE freeze them. The Ravioli are small, not big like the ones you buy in the store. When I make them for dinner for my family I make 2 doz per person! LOL!

This post caught my eye because it reminded me of a story my mother shared. Her mom made ravioli and used to make my mom count them. I asked why and she said - probably to keep her busy!

Just getting back online ! Our power went out on Sunday !!

It feels like it's been forever!

Thanks Hurricane Ike! (I'm really not complaining!...so many people so much worse off !) I'm not happy that we lost everything in our fridge and the big freezer! :(

Whew - all those pounds of meat & onions and SO MANY ravioli! Yum! Haven't really made too much homemade Italian in a long time (except my sauce). Maybe when my little guy starts preK . . .
