Snowfall

Did I tell you all that next month I am going on the cruise with Gina K, Emily and Nicole and 150 other stampers? The time is getting very close. And the excitement is building up. I signed up for a swap in the Gina K forum for cards anything Gina K. I think that I temporarily lost my mind when I signed up for this swap. It's putting so much pressure on me. Can you imagine me handing one of my little cards to Gina K herself? LOL!
I had the opportunity to talk to Gina about this. I had placed an order through her website and one small item was missing.(she placed the item in an envelope as we were speaking) I called her store and she answered the phone. We started talking about the cruise and how exciting it was going to be. She is so sweet. I told her that I was on the fence about signing up for one of the swaps, that it made me nervous to be in a pool with such talented people. And she was like , oh, no, you shouldn't feel that way. I explained to her that I have over heard some people being disappointed in some swaps...and say things like " can you imagine...this is what I made for a swap and this is what I got back!" She told me that when people participate in a swap, the item they make comes from the heart, and she couldn't imagine anyone saying something like that! So with that encouragement I signed up for the swap.
I've been working very hard on this swap card. I have to make 21 of them. The card I'm posting today is not the card for the swap.( I'm sure it would be safe to post it here...I don't think that anyone from that group has me on their blog reader! LOL!) Today's card is using a Whipper Snapper image called snowfall. I love this snowman! He reminds me of humpty dumpty. and i just adore humpty dumpty! LOL!
I created the paper by using glossy white card stock and the polished stone technique. SCS has a great tutorial on this technique. I then stamped little snowflakes on top of the paper and embossed the snowflakes with winter white ep. then I rubbed some silver pearl ex all over the paper and heated again to set the colors. I am delighted with the outcome. Click on the image, you can really see the detail in the paper!
Let me know what you think!
